PanAmSat Selects Glowlink
Equipment for Global Monitoring Network
LOS ALTOS, CALIFORNIA, October 11, 2004
– Glowlink Communications Technology, Inc. announced
today that it has received a contract from PanAmSat
Corporation for the PanAmSat Global Monitoring System
(GMS). Under the terms of the contract, Glowlink will
implement a worldwide network of monitoring sites based
on its Model 1000 satellite monitoring systems and LC100
satellite ground terminal equipment controllers.
“We are pleased to award this contract to Glowlink
based on their price advantage and superior products
and services,” said Mr. Bob Vogel, PanAmSat Vice
President, Network Engineering. “PanAmSat provides
a range of additional services to our customers beyond
the provisioning of bandwidths, both in the commercial
and in the increasingly important U.S. government markets.
We look forward to using Glowlink’s cutting-edge
technology and powerful monitoring features to add to
these services.”
With more than 24 satellites in orbit and coverage
over the Americas, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and
Asia, PanAmSat is the largest U.S. based satellite company,
providing integrated satellite and terrestrial based
communications services world-wide.
“This is a tremendous contract for Glowlink.
Monitoring a global network of the size, reach and quality
of PanAmSat is a significant task, and we are thrilled
to be selected by PanAmSat to support them in accomplishing
this task,” said Jeffrey Chu, President and CEO,
Glowlink.
“It is wonderful to see PanAmSat adopt the Model
1000 for their monitoring needs,” said Michael
Downey, CTO, Glowlink. “The fact that PanAmSat
will be using the same advanced equipment as the U.S.
Government in managing their networks and providing
value-add services demonstrates that PanAmSat is extremely
forward looking. It should bode well for them as they
play an increasingly important role in the U.S. government
satellite market.”
