Schlumberger Selects Glowlink
Spectrum Monitoring Systems
for Satellite Teleports
February 1 , 2006, Los Altos,
California - Glowlink, a premier solutions
provider for satellite monitoring and control equipment,
announced today that Schlumberger has selected the
Glowlink Model 1000 spectrum monitoring systems to
support Schlumberger’s globally distributed
satellite communications teleports,
The Model 1000 will help Schlumberger optimize the
management and network monitoring of their VSAT infrastructure
across its 10 global teleports.
“Schlumberger has a long-established reputation
for integrating best-of-breed technologies for the
benefit of their customers,” said Robert Estus,
Vice President Operation, Glowlink. “We
believe the Glowlink technology will allow Schlumberger
to enhance the customer’s experience for their
connectivity clients, whilst at the same time enable
them to optimize the performance of their entire VSAT
connectivity infrastructure.”
The Model 1000, a DSP-based spectrum monitoring system,
is ideal for monitoring satellites from either a central
operation center or multiple operation centers. Its
network-centric design allows it to be readily incorporated
into a monitoring network that is both flexible and
scalable, and which in turn can be expanded without
disruption to ongoing network operations.
“Schlumberger is a world-class company
with a long and distinguished history in the oil and
gas sector. We are extremely pleased to be selected
to support their network monitoring needs world wide,” said
Jeffrey Chu, Glowlink President and CEO.
