Glowlink granted patent for Satellite Transponder Performance Assessment Technology.

The US Patent Office has granted the “Transponder Operating Point (TOP™)” patent to Glowlink Communications Technology Inc. The TOP™ technology automatically and reliably detects satellite transponder compression without the injection of uplink test signals, which can cause interference problems with on-going traffic. The TOP technology eliminates the need for expensive test equipment, the associated labor-intensive measurement procedures, and provides a significantly more robust and inexpensive technique for detecting transponder compression. By using TOP, satellite operators can gain in real-time a continuous and accurate picture of the performance of on-board transponders, and make needed adjustments to carrier powers to avoid over driving satellite transponders.
